Job Summary
Develop and optimize continuous production and manufacturing processes to achieve output, quality, and cost goals. Collect production data, apply statistical methods to analyze and diagram processes, and identify bottlenecks to devise solutions. Troubleshoot plant process issues with technicians and operators while developing procedure documentation and training materials. Manage initiatives under the Operations Manager and support new product commercialization from inception through commercialization handoff. Measure product quality and yield using statistical process control to improve first pass quality, productivity, and safety. Coordinate new products with R&D and foster collaboration across Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Safety, and Quality teams. Investigate downtime causes and complete recommendations to prevent reoccurrence. Maintain heat transfer, fluid flow, and instrumentation knowledge while adhering to safety, health, and environmental factors.
Required Qualifications
- Four-year college degree in Chemical Engineering
- Must understand heat transfer, fluid flow, pumping, piping, and instrumentation
- Demonstrated exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated excellent computer skills
- Ability to be reached by phone during off shift hours in case of scheduling or emergency need
- Must be able to frequently climb ladders to access mission critical operating equipment and obtain product samples
- Some towers are over 100 feet tall
Desired Qualifications
- 3+ years' experience preferred in manufacturing or chemical processing related industry
- Able to obtain TWIC certification
- Read P&ID's and schematics
- Having previous experience with continuous chemical processing; within a high hazard environment is preferred
- Hands on with the ability to build rapport with operating, analytical, and maintenance technicians is extremely important
- Ability to handle multiple projects at one time
- GMP knowledge preferred
- Programing experience preferred
