Job Summary
The Process Engineer provides essential engineering support to ensure the safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly operation of nitrogen fertilizer production units. Responsibilities include monitoring plant performance, conducting process optimization and troubleshooting, and generating solutions to improve operational efficiency. The role requires collaboration with multiple departments, evaluating capital improvement projects, and actively participating in training and safety assessments. Required qualifications include a BS in Chemical Engineering, significant experience in chemical manufacturing, and strong interpersonal communication abilities.
Required Qualifications
- BS degree in Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
- Seven or more years of engineering related experience in the oil, gas, or chemical manufacturing industry preferred
- Seven or more years of experience with capital project development and/or execution preferred
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) required
- Ability and willingness to collect field data and work in an operating chemical facility environment
- Ability and willingness to work alternative shifts/schedules to support 24 hour operations
- Must be able to acquire Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC)
- The ability to prove drug and alcohol free at random or for cause
- Submission of university transcript is required for those with less than four years of post-graduate experience
