Process Engineer (Building 3)

Job Summary

Analyze, design, and optimize production processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety while ensuring all operations remain cGMP compliant. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including EHS, Quality, and Maintenance to deliver manufacturing plans and troubleshoot process-related issues. Lead root cause analysis for deviations and prepare new job jackets for commercial products. Monitor key process parameters, track performance metrics, and generate regular reports for plant leadership. Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean or Six Sigma methodologies and provide technical training to production personnel. Act as deputy to the Plant Manager during absences and support equipment qualification efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Willingness to accept the demands of a 24/7 manufacturing operation
  • Knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements relevant to the manufacturing industry
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to multitask and establish priorities in an environment of competing expectations
  • Willingness to continue education and personal development for the purposes of staying up to date with industry, technology, and regulatory requirements
  • Desire to be a change agent, not getting discouraged, but persevering through times of conflict
  • Flexible and open minded to change while at same time being able to hold an unwavering position
  • Ability to analyze data, look for trends, and draw conclusions for said data
  • Location: Reading Campus (primary work location) – 98% of time
  • East Greenville Campus (secondary location) – 2% of time
  • Office 40%

  • Work is performed in a manufacturing plant environment with regular exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures
  • Employee will be required to don and doff process-specific personal protective equipment (PPE) including appropriate safety shoes, dust respirators, etc.
  • Requires standing, walking, and occasional lifting
  • May require occasional off-shift or weekend work to support production or projects
  • Travel Requirements: To vendor locations as needed to support learning and equipment/process advancement
  • Travel Requirements: To industry or technical conferences to advance learning and understanding of new technologies
  • Travel Requirements: Between CPS sites as required

Desired Qualifications

  • experience in cGMP (food or excipient) manufacturing is a plus
  • Experience with cGMP bottling lines and/or extraction equipment is a plus
  • Champion and embodiment of CPS Core Values
  • Strong knowledge of process design, optimization, and control
  • Proficiency in process simulation software and data analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, Excel, SPC)
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement frameworks
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
  • Ability to analyze data, look for trends, and draw conclusions for said data
