Job Summary
Develop and optimize wet etch chemistry processes for silicon and other brittle materials to meet semiconductor-grade cleanliness for dielectric etch and deposition applications. Define process conditions ensuring safety, quality, cost, and capacity while establishing critical-to-quality parameters with manufacturing. Partner with R&D to implement new etch technologies and evaluate current processes for capability improvements using SPC and engineering controls. Manage project planning, budgets, and ROI to align with annual operating plans, applying Lean manufacturing concepts including 5S and SMED. Maintain strict adherence to the Silfex Quality Management System and all safety policies in the etch clean area.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master of Science in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
- 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment or Semiconductor industry
- Knowledge of wet chemistries focused on Silicon etching with interaction of chemistries and impact of product parameters
- Knowledge of Si – surface cleaning
- Proficient in reading part drawings and in interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
- Experience in Lean technologies in a manufacturing environment including advanced problem solving/6-sigma skills
- Demonstrated skills in process control and process optimization
- Must be able to work effectively individually and in a team environment
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities
- Must be able to perform successfully under minimum supervision
- Competent with MSOffice Suite products and advance skills in Microsoft Excel
- Statistical analysis software experience, preferably JMP or Minitab
- Experience with Quality Systems, Conformance, and Compliance standards
- Knowledge of Special Process Controls and or Copy Exact and other Semi Standards
- Ability to learn process equipment including Operator/Maintenance interface with PLCs and machine controls
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds
- Must be able to wear all PPE as required by work area or job function
