Job Summary
Purify diverse proteins to support Regeneron's research and discovery groups while developing clinical processes and enhancing preclinical manufacturing throughput through technology and automation. Document experiments and results in an electronic laboratory notebook, present findings at group meetings, and maintain instruments by troubleshooting experimental problems. Collaborate with peers to execute independent experiments and anticipate equipment or supply issues to prevent operational disruptions. This role operates in a fast-paced pilot scale laboratory setting in Tarrytown, NY, requiring full-time on-site coverage with some travel. A Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Biochemical, or Biochemical Engineering with three years of experience is required, plus a strong understanding of protein purification techniques and downstream development equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in either Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or Biochemistry
- 3+ years' or a MS and 0-3 years of experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry
- Must be available on-site consistently
- Must be available for before- and after-hours
- Some travel required
- Job will periodically require short duration physical exertions, including light-medium weight lifting
Desired Qualifications
- A strong fundamental understanding of various protein purification techniques a plus
- Experience with Downstream Development and with equipment like Akta Explorers/Avants/Pilots, chromatography columns, tangential flow filters, depth filters, HPLCs, and UPLCs as well as software such as Empower, Unicorn, JMP, and LIMS is a plus
