Job Summary
Support daily operation of control systems at Texas City's steam methane reforming, air separation, and ammonia production assets by building, implementing, and maintaining changes to DCS, SIS, and PLC automation. Conduct root cause analyses with automation vendors, manage lifecycle support for programming and preventive maintenance, and drive improvements in plant reliability and cyber security. Collaborate with regional engineers, plant staff, and site supervisors to optimize existing assets, update control logic and HMI documentation, and address instrumentation obsolescence while meeting organizational safety goals.
Required Qualifications
- Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 3+ years of experience in process automation systems and/or instrumentation engineering
- Valid Drivers' License
- Clean driving record
- Ability to access and safely operate a reliable personal vehicle on an ongoing basis
- Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship (e.g. temporary work visa or work permit)
- Must be capable of working in a team environment with shared responsibilities
- Effective communicator able to present sophisticated problems to a varied audience in a concise and accurate manner across the organization, including customers, vendors, management, and site personnel
- Must maintain a Valid Drivers' License, a clean driving record, and the ability to access and safely operate a reliable personal vehicle on an ongoing basis
- Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship (e.g. temporary work visa or work permit)
Desired Qualifications
- Hands-on knowledge of control systems (DCS/PLC)
- Experience with Siemens PCS7
- Some knowledge of field instrumentation, including valves and transmitters
- Proficiency and experience with concepts related to level, temperature, pressure, and flow measurement
- Fundamental understanding of computer networks
- General knowledge of cybersecurity implementation relates to industrial control systems
- General knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems as applicable to Mechanical Integrity
- Self-motivated with strong interpersonal and communication skills
