Job Summary
Process Controls Engineer responsible for the performance and reliability of our process control systems in a chemical production environment. Collaborate across engineering, operations, and maintenance to deliver smarter, more efficient solutions. Lead the day-to-day performance and reliability of the plant’s Process Control Network; partner with instrumentation and maintenance teams to implement automation and system enhancements; design and optimize control strategies to improve throughput, efficiency, and uptime; troubleshoot and resolve control system issues alongside cross-functional teams; maintain and update system documentation including P&IDs and operating procedures; coordinate system upgrades, patches, and software updates with IT and engineering; analyze process data to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement; support capital projects by managing process controls and instrumentation scope; ensure all systems and processes meet safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in process controls, automation, or manufacturing environments
- Hands-on expertise with PLCs, instrumentation, and control system programming
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to manage projects and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- A strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
