Process Control Engineer

Job Summary
Maintain and enhance process control applications and assets to support safe, environmentally sound, and efficient unit operations. Develop, modify, and tune control strategies for assigned processing units, including new projects and products, while providing advanced control for multi-variable controllers. Monitor unit operations to meet production, quality, and energy targets, and facilitate PSM Management of Change, PHA, and IPL studies. Provide technical support for PLCs, automation systems, and Safety Instrumented Systems, and lead operational review meetings to rationalize alarm settings. Develop graphics and train operators on control strategies, collaborating with project engineers on offsite FATs. Ensure all activities comply with integrated management systems and participate in required safety training. Requires 3+ month assignment with potential overtime and on-site presence.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a level of proficiency with SAP, Internet, Email and Microsoft Office programs
- B.S. Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field
- Must be able to identify needs and opportunities and work independently to achieve goals, prioritization
- Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis
- Ability to work extra hours if needed
- Ability to work overtime may be needed to ensure required staffing capacity to meet daily production objectives

Desired Qualifications
- Experience with DCS systems such as Foxboro IA (Invensys) or Emerson Delta V preferred
- Experience with PLCs (Triconex or GE Fanuc / Mark V, VII preferred)
- Process Hazard Analysis and LOPA studies
- Control network management preferred
- Control application experience, continuous controls, batch experience strongly preferred
