Job Summary
Process Control Engineer at Global Cellulose Fibers (Oglethorpe, GA). Leads development, support, and optimization of advanced process control applications, tuning, and control strategies to improve plant safety, performance, profitability, and efficiency. Collaborates with Operators, Engineers, and PCAT to troubleshoot, tune loops, and enhance control schemes; participates in capital and maintenance projects to implement control objectives; develops training materials for operations, I&E maintenance, and technical personnel; focuses on reducing alarms and improving control utilization, while delivering quality processes in a salaried, full-time role.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 yrs. experience in process control
- Knowledge and skills around Emerson Delta V and Honeywell DCS control systems
- industrial communications networks; field instruments, valves and analyzers
- multivariable control, and PLCs
- BS Degree in engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical or Pulp & Paper Science) preferred
- Willingness to undergo drug screening
- Willingness to work any shift/overtime/rotating schedules
- Ability to coach and lead technical resources
