Job Summary
In this role, you will implement programs to support environmental compliance, process control programs, and health and safety requirements for water and wastewater treatment processes within the region. The position requires knowledge of water and wastewater treatment operations, environmental compliance, OHSA and related regulatory acts, and the ability to perform audits, analyze data, and provide technical compliance advice. Strong analytical, planning, scheduling, presentation, and training skills, plus proficiency with Microsoft Office and database functions, are essential. Travel throughout the Cluster is expected, and on-call work may be required. OCWA offers an Operator Career Path program with certification-based progression and a comprehensive benefits package.
Required Qualifications
- Operator-in-Training (OIT) to Class IV certificate or license: Water Treatment, Water Distribution and Supply, Wastewater Treatment and Collection (as per O. Reg. 128/04)
- Post-secondary education in an environmental discipline or field knowledge
- Valid Class G driver’s license
- Must be available after regular working hours for emergency situations or on-call as scheduled
