Job Summary
At Freeport-McMoRan, the Process Automation Engineering Specialist II role focuses on enhancing performance of Industrial Control Systems, improving automation processes, and ensuring compliance with safety and cybersecurity standards. Candidates should possess engineering experience relevant to Process Automation, with various educational pathways outlined.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED and seven (7) years of Engineering experience relevant to Process Automation
- Bachelor’s degree in a Scientific discipline and three (3) years of Engineering experience relevant to Process Automation
- Master’s degree in a Scientific discipline and two (2) years of Engineering experience relevant to Process Automation
Desired Qualifications
- Emerson DeltaV and Rockwell PLC experience
- PLC, HMI, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and/or Distributed Control Systems (DCS) manufacture training or certification
- Experience with plant process historians or similar database storage and retrieval systems
- Experience with ICS/PCN network architecture, communication and security
- Experience in or understanding of mining and mineral processing and systems
- Familiarity with or training in NFPA 70 and NEC or Electrical Journeyman Training
Additional Requirements
- This position is not eligible for Freeport-McMoRan immigration work visa sponsorship
- Candidates may be required to pass a medical exam
- Candidates must pass all required training and/or testing
- Employees may be required to work a non-standard schedule, which may include shift work (other than day shift) at a 24/7, 365-day operation
