Process Automation Engineer

Job Summary
Drive process improvement from initial machine design through full-scale production, including manufacturing processes and controls, under guidance of the Engineering Section Supervisor. Investigate production and process problems, perform Process-FMEA analyses, implement corrective actions via process changes, equipment updates, and control-system improvements; support installation, commissioning, startup and maintenance of automated equipment; develop and maintain automated manufacturing systems (PLC controls, HMI/SCADA, and custom interfaces); maintain process and equipment documentation; and act as a liaison between process engineering and automation teams to ensure alignment between requirements and equipment functionality.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Three to five years of industrial process/automation experience
- Strong programming skills in Allen-Bradley PLCs
- Experience in VB.NET and VB6 development
- Understanding of industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, Modbus)
- Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings
