Job Summary
Process Automation Engineer (2nd Shift) at Pfizer in Andover, MA. You will provide engineering and automation support for installation, commissioning, testing and qualification, operation and maintenance of process and automated equipment and systems within a biopharmaceutical clinical manufacturing facility. Equipment may include single‐use bioreactors, ultrafiltration skids, chromatography skids, and DeltaV DCS automation systems. Responsibilities include managing project timelines, supporting operation and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment and control systems, collaborating with cross‐functional teams, providing floor‐level operational support, assisting with qualification of new equipment or upgrades, supporting maintenance activities, reviewing equipment process histories, and participating in investigations, change controls, and audits as needed. Qualifications require a bachelor’s degree with relevant experience (or equivalent combinations), experience with DeltaV/PLC/OSI PI products, biotech manufacturing experience, SOP compliance, and strong communication and teamwork skills. The role is on-site in a clean-room environment with a non-standard work schedule and minimal travel; relocation assistance may be available. U.S. work authorization is required; current posting notes that U.S. visa sponsorship is not available for this role. This position offers a base salary range of $68,600 to $114,300 plus bonus eligibility and comprehensive benefits, with Pfizer emphasizing equal opportunity and accessibility.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with any years of experience, or Associate's degree with 4 years of relevant experience, or high school diploma (or equivalent) and 6 years of relevant experience
- Some experience with any DCS, Emerson DeltaV, Allen-Bradley PLC, and OSI PI products
- Experience in a biotechnology manufacturing or laboratory environment
- Ability to execute against Standard Operating Procedures and document entries in a compliant manner
- Demonstrated capability to work as a team member in a matrix development team
- Strong analytical and computer skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain a safe work environment
