Job Summary
Develop new, revised, or modified technical procedures enabling personnel to safely perform tasks in dimensional inspection, material testing, metrology, procurement, radiography, and weld inspection. Comply with Y15-232 and the Technical Procedure Authoring Tool (TPAT), while occasionally developing administrative procedures under Y15-235 and the Administrative Procedure Authoring Tool (APAT). Create Enterprise procedures applicable to Y-12 and Pantex, prepare and coordinate procedure reviews, and resolve comments. Implement hazard controls, capture quality and performance data, and verify procedures through validation. This role requires a BS degree or equivalent technical background with 18+ years of experience, familiarity with DOE Orders, QA manuals, and Nuclear Criticality Safety documents, and a valid DOE Q Security Clearance. United States citizenship is required.
Required Qualifications
- BS degree
- 10+ years' experience in technical disciplines
- experience writing technical procedures in a commercial or Weapons Complex facility
- familiar with the regulatory and administrative requirements affecting procedures
- ability to determine the technical requirements that apply to the procedures by examining DOE Orders and Standards
- familiarity with 60-101PD
- familiarity with Quality Assurance Program Description
- familiarity with Y60-015, Integrated Quality Manual
- familiarity with Nuclear Criticality Safety (NCS) documents
- familiarity with Hazard Analysis documents
- United States Citizenship
- ability to obtain and maintain DOE Q Security Clearance
