Job Summary
Coordinate and schedule medical procedures by communicating with patients, physicians, and clinical staff to confirm availability and requirements; verify patient information, insurance coverage, and pre-authorization status; maintain accurate scheduling records in EHR systems and scheduling software; manage appointment changes, cancellations, and rescheduling; collaborate with multiple departments to optimize procedure room utilization and minimize patient wait times; provide customer service by addressing patient inquiries and concerns related to procedure scheduling; ensure privacy and institutional policy compliance when handling patient information.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- experience in medical scheduling, healthcare administration, or related field
- familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare procedures
- proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and scheduling software
- strong organizational and communication skills
