Job Summary
Coordinate and schedule medical procedures and diagnostic tests in accordance with physician orders and patient requirements. Communicate effectively with patients to confirm appointments, provide preparation instructions, and address scheduling inquiries. Collaborate with healthcare providers and departments to ensure resource availability and resolve conflicts due to cancellations or changes. Maintain accurate scheduling records in electronic health record systems and monitor schedules to optimize clinical resource utilization. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy standards while generating reports on procedure volumes and patient flow. Monday-Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in medical scheduling, patient coordination, or healthcare administrative support
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and scheduling software
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher in healthcare administration or related field
- Certification in medical scheduling or healthcare administration (e.g., Certified Medical Administrative Assistant)
- Experience working in a hospital, outpatient clinic, or specialized medical practice setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedural coding
- Proficiency with advanced scheduling platforms and Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and discretion
