Job Summary
Prepare patients for pain management procedures by explaining processes, answering questions, and ensuring comfort. Assist healthcare providers during epidural injections, nerve blocks, and spinal cord stimulator trials while monitoring vital signs and responding to distress. Set up and maintain equipment, document patient information and procedure details, and maintain a sterile environment following infection control protocols. Provide post-procedure instructions on home care and follow-up, collaborate with physicians and nurses, and adhere to HIPAA regulations. Maintain Basic Life Support certification and stay updated on pain management advancements through continuing education.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to lift/move equipment as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical or healthcare setting
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle patient inquiries and concerns with empathy
- Proficient in basic computer skills (MS Office, electronic health records)
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
