Job Summary
The Procedural Support Assistant is an integral member of the procedural team, providing patient support and information before and after procedures, assisting the proceduralist during procedures, handling specimen and biopsy orders, obtaining vital signs, and supporting room turnover and supply management. The role involves transporting patients, anticipating patient needs, and maintaining effective communication with the health care team. Requires a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of patient care and customer service experience, and computer/EHR proficiency. The position is part-time with shift expectations and potential float to other primary care sites, consistent with Mayo Clinic operations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of patient care experience required
- One year of customer service experience required
- Ability to work independently
- Computer skills including Windows-based applications and familiarity with electronic health records preferred
- Exposure to electronic health record (EHR) preferred
- Ability to multitask and communicate effectively in person and via electronic communications
- Demonstrated empathy and positive communication in dynamic environments
- Maintains Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) competency
- Flexibility to adjust work schedules as department needs
- Good organizational and problem-solving skills
