Job Summary
Pro-Tech Health Assistant supports the school nurse by providing routine and technical health services to students under RN delegation, including administering oral medications, managing care for students with diabetes, seizures, asthma, ADD, autism, and allergies; tracking and maintaining student health records; assisting with health screenings and immunization data; maintaining health room supplies; communicating health information with parents/guardians and staff; and upholding universal precautions and confidentiality. Requires First-Aid/CPR/AED certification, health-care coursework or training, strong communication and organizational skills, and proficiency with MS Word/Excel/Outlook.
Required Qualifications
- I. High school diploma or GED
- 2. Completion of significant course-work in a health-care related field; Medical Assistant training or certification preferred.
- 3. Successful experiences working in a health care profession, preferably with children, in an educational setting, or other service agency for school age children.
- 4. First-Aid/CPR/ AED certification required.
- 5. Must demonstrate appropriate use of written and oral English.
- 6. Proficiency with office equipment and desk top computer programs to include MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and data entry.
