PRO Services Assistant Department Manager

Job Summary

Direct and assist product sales specialists in training, merchandising, and customer service while managing inventory, processing transactions, and presenting how-to classes. Complete product specialist certification, forklift proficiency testing, and standard operating procedure updates. Greet customers, answer phones, and process refunds and exchanges according to established guidelines. Stock displays, create price tags, and communicate inventory needs to management. Work Monday through Sunday in a warehouse environment, handling physical demands including lifting up to 60 pounds. Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year of customer service/sales experience
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to drive
  • Ability to lift 30 – 60 pounds of force occasionally
  • Ability to lift 20-30 pounds of force frequently
  • Ability to lift greater than negligible up to 20 pounds of force constantly
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects

  • Ability to reach with arms and hands
  • Ability to climb or balance

  • Ability to greet every customer in a helpful and courteous manner
  • Ability to assist customers with product questions and selections
  • Ability to present 'how-to' classes to customers
  • Ability to follow established cash, check and charge card acceptance procedures
  • Ability to stock and tag merchandise displays as required
  • Ability to complete all product specialist certification courses
  • Ability to complete the Industrial Truck (forklift) proficiency testing and certification
  • Ability to communicate inventory needs to management
  • Ability to direct and assist the processing of merchandise to the showroom floor
  • Ability to validate all product placement and pricing within the department
  • Ability to communicate standard operating procedure direction and changes to all associates in a timely manner
  • Ability to ensure the overall merchandising, pricing and organization of the department
  • Ability to demonstrate a thorough understanding of merchandise and installation
  • Ability to demonstrate a thorough understanding and compliance with the company's safe lifting practices standard operating procedures
  • Ability to drive and teach the company philosophy around the basic P's of retail
  • Ability to provide direction to all product sales specialists to ensure a highly attentive and accurate level of customer service
  • Ability to act and work in a manner that is consistent with company's core values
