Job Summary
Apply psychotherapeutic techniques and interventions to treat diagnosed emotional and mental disorders through individual, group, or family therapy sessions. Conduct psychosocial assessments, develop initial discharge plans, and provide ongoing treatment planning while maintaining documentation and managing assigned caseloads. Participate in treatment team meetings, coordinate additional services, and evaluate patient needs for referrals. Provide case management, discharge planning, or after-care planning as required, and may assist in staff training on behavior management or crisis intervention. Maintain a positive, empathetic attitude while prioritizing patient safety and resolving complaints.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or other therapeutic field
- LSW or LISW or LPC or LPCC
- Four or more years' experience as a therapist
- Two or more years' experience with the specific population of the facility
- State or national licensure for professional therapy providers
- CPR certification
- de-escalation/restraint certification
- First aid
