Job Summary
The Patient Service Representative (PSR) at Intermountain Health serves as the first connection between Intermountain and patients, providing courteous and professional interactions via phone, in person, or secure messaging. Responsibilities include greeting and checking in/out patients, verifying demographic and insurance information, scheduling appointments and procedures, registering patients, ensuring accurate documentation in the EMR, collecting payments and educating patients on financial assistance, and maintaining high customer/patient satisfaction through effective communication and collaboration with caregivers. The role requires basic computer skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and adherence to privacy protections for PHI in a healthcare setting.
Required Qualifications
- Six months of customer service experience involving interactions with customers
- Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry
- Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction
- Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI) of patients, members, and caregivers
