Job Summary
Conduct respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support for neonatal to geriatric in-patients and out-patients. Set up, monitor, and wean oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation while drawing, analyzing, and reporting Arterial Blood Gases and EKGs. Deliver intermittent therapy, assist with changing artificial airways, and perform routine and advanced therapeutic procedures per established policy. Review and document all clinical information, including psycho/social and safety criteria, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Requires current Respiratory Therapist license, National Board certification, and proficiency with Windows-style applications. Flexible 24/7 schedule with weekend, holiday, and on-call availability; potential exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous medications.
Required Qualifications
- Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice
- Certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard
- Must be able to travel throughout and between facilities
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule (24/7, weekend, holiday, on call availability)
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
