Job Summary
Provide respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support to in-patients and out-patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric. Monitor and wean oxygen therapy, manage artificial ventilation, and draw, analyze, and report Arterial Blood Gases and EKGs. Assist with changing artificial airways and deliver intermittent therapy as ordered by a physician, adhering to established policies. Review and document all clinical information while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws and accreditation standards. Maintain proficiency in Windows-style applications for patient data entry and retrieval.
Required Qualifications
- Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice
- Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Certified Respiratory Therapist
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification (only for trained therapists working in the NICU)
- Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications and keyboard
