Job Summary
Perform clerical tasks including data entry, third-party adjudication, and maintaining patient profiles. Fulfill prescription orders by retrieving medications, accurately labeling, and dispensing the correct amount for pharmacist verification. Participate in inventory control activities such as monitoring, dating, invoicing, stocking, and preparing purchase orders. Assist with accounting and billing-related tasks, including basic recordkeeping, accounts receivable support, and third-party billing. Store and preserve biologicals, vaccines, and serums using proper refrigeration and storage techniques. Promptly report safety concerns, discrepancies, or medication errors to a supervising pharmacist or manager. Complete annual skills assessments and competency validations under supervision while actively participating in training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- At least one (1) year of experience as a pharmacy technician
- Active permit as a Pharmacy Technician by the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy or ability to achieve permit within 90 days of employment
- Basic cash handling skills
- Fundamental computer and math skills
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy of data and information
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written instructions and procedures
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Customer service–oriented mindset
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with pharmacy staff and healthcare team members
