Job Summary
The PRN Registered Nurse is responsible for bedside nursing care and treatment for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn patients. Key responsibilities include administering medications, assessing patients' conditions, and developing care plans. The role requires competencies in caring for mothers and newborns, managing labor progression, and handling medical emergencies. Effective communication, detail orientation, and the ability to work independently are essential skills, along with the requirement for current RN licensure and certifications in BLS, NRP, and STABLE. Physical demands include lifting and carrying patients with support, alongside maintaining adherence to safety and hospital standards.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a RN degree in nursing, from an accredited nursing program required
- Must hold a current nursing license in the state of Kentucky Board of Nursing
- Current Kentucky RN license
- Current BLS certification
- Required to complete NRP and STABLE within the first six months of employment
- Obtain Fetal Monitoring within one year.
Desired Qualifications
- BSN preferred for higher qualifications.
- Experience preferred in appropriate clinical care area.
