Job Summary
PRN Registered Nurse (Emergency Department) at Vista Medical Center seeking an experienced RN to assess, triage, and treat acutely ill patients in a fast-paced ED. Responsibilities include administering medications and procedures per hospital protocols, delivering critical interventions for trauma and cardiac events, monitoring patient conditions, educating patients and families, documenting assessments and outcomes in the EMR, and collaborating with physicians, paramedics, and other clinicians while maintaining patient safety and regulatory compliance. Requires IL RN license (or compact eligibility), TNCC/BLS/ACLS/NRP/PALS certifications (or willingness to obtain within 6 months), and a minimum of 2 years of ED/Critical Care experience. Night and day shift availability with shift differentials offered; competitive salary and retirement benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in the State of Illinois (or compact state eligibility)
- TNCC, BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience (Emergency Department or Critical Care required)
- Ability to work night shift and day shift as required
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and multitasking skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
