Job Summary

Oversee the medical aspect and needs at the Developmental Preschool site level by monitoring all aspects of health and safety, performing nursing assessments, and providing daily nursing services as prescribed by a licensed physician. Complete initial and annual training on health and safety issues, maintain immunization records, and ensure billing for nursing services is accurate and timely. Monitor for potential abuse or neglect, follow DHS reporting guidelines, and conduct reviews to ensure Arkansas Childcare Licensing and EIDT requirements are met. Assist with new hire orientation, provide health and safety training to staff, and attend administrative meetings to input into center policies. Available to parents for health-related questions and available for all health-related needs including sicknesses, accidents, and incidents. Requires current unrestricted registered nursing license, knowledge of pediatric emergency management, and ability to work with children birth to age 18.

Required Qualifications

  • Current, unrestricted registered nursing license as approved by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing
  • Pediatric nursing experience, preferred
  • Knowledge of basic nursing services including tube feeds, catheterizations, diabetic management, and seizure management
  • Knowledge of common pediatric developmental conditions and pediatric emergency management
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide variety of people
  • Must be able to work with children birth to age 18 and families who are at risk
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Basic computer skills which include a working knowledge of keyboarding, database, word processing, spreadsheet, and Internet software
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a very busy environment
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, policies, and other company documents
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of families or employees of the organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Reports for work dressed appropriately and complies with company policies regarding the dress code
  • Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance
  • Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Near and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
