Job Summary
Provide quality nursing care to patients using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Direct and lead assigned team members while collaborating with multidisciplinary staff to deliver age-appropriate care. Focus on patient-centered needs through health teaching, goal identification, and coordination of care consistent with MUSC policies. Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment by ensuring patient privacy and demonstrating professional, respectful behavior. Participate in shared governance, peer review, and professional development to promote clinical excellence and autonomous practice. Identify clinical priorities to improve patient outcomes within the 15-hour weekly schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification
- Ability to bend at the waist
- Ability to kneel
- Ability to climb stairs
- Ability to reach in all directions
- Ability to fully use both hands and legs
- Ability to possess good finger dexterity
- Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders
- Ability to reach in all directions (repetitive)
- Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use
- Maintain 20/40 vision corrected
- Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand and at a distance
- Ability to work in a latex safe environment
- Ability to work indoors
- Ability to frequently lift, lower, push and pull and/or carry objects weighing 50 lbs (+/-) unassisted
- Ability to exert up to 50 lbs of force
- Ability to lift from 36" to overhead 25 lbs
- Ability to infrequently work in dusty areas
- Ability to infrequently work in confined/cramped spaces
- Associate's Degree, and a minimum of one (1) year of work experience as a Registered Nurse
