Job Summary
PRN Psychiatric & Family Nurse Practitioner provides medical and mental health services to patients at ARS facilities, including medical/psychiatric evaluations, screening for co-occurring mental health issues and substance use disorders, pharmacologic management, and documentation in the electronic health record. Responsibilities include adherence to ASAM criteria and state/federal regulations, on-call duties within one hour of the facility, collaboration with facility leadership and medical directors, treatment planning, and ensuring accurate diagnosis, data interpretation, and referrals as needed. Requires in-state licensure as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, DEA for controlled substances, and training on Buprenorphine prescribing; duties may include weekend coverage (Saturday and Sunday 8 AM–5 PM) and onsite work at Orlando Recovery Center. Required Qualifications
- Graduated from an accredited Nursing Master's Program with a Family Nurse Practitioner or higher and a Psychiatric Nurse practitioner degree
- Experience in Addiction Medicine/ Primary Behavioral Health preferred
- DEA to prescribe controlled medications and training on Buprenorphine prescribing as outlined by the DEA
- Depending on the state practicing, may need a protocol agreement to be completed by the NP and Medical Director
- Licensed Nurse with Master's Degree or higher to practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner and a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Psych NP) in the appropriate state, as applicable
- Must have a DEA to prescribe controlled medications and have had training on Buprenorphine Prescribing as outlined by the DEA in the state(s) working
- DEA-authorized prescribers will be required to demonstrate training on opioid or SUD treatment
