Job Summary
Emergency Screener provides emergency/mental health assessments to patients in crisis and screens for psychiatric hospitalization, collaborates with a psychiatrist and ER staff, develops alternative treatment plans, completes disposition planning, and uses appropriate clinical instruments to assess drug/alcohol involvement. Role involves crisis stabilization within Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES), including referral/linkage, and coordination for both voluntary and involuntary care. Overnight shifts available; bilingual proficiency (Spanish) adds an elevated pay differential.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in the mental-health-related field from an accredited institution, plus one year of postmaster's, full-time equivalent, professional experience in a psychiatric setting; or Bachelor's degree in the mental-health-related field from an accredited institution, plus three years post-bachelors, full-time equivalent, professional experience in the mental health field, one of which is in a crisis setting; Bachelor's degree in the mental-health-related field, one of which is in a crisis setting and currently enrolled in a master's program.
