Job Summary
Administer prescribed medical treatment and coordinate total nursing care for ill, injured, convalescing, and disabled patients across Webster County Community Hospital. Admit, evaluate, diagnose, and provide generalist medical care to patients of all ages, including intensive care setting coverage. Perform procedures such as stress testing, joint aspiration, wound management, and fracture stabilization while interpreting EKG and imaging results to initiate emergent treatment. Synthesize patient data to develop nursing care plans, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, and facilitate transitions to the next level of care. Maintain comprehensive medical records, support staff training, and contribute to quality assurance and policy revisions in compliance with Nebraska regulations and CAH requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess authority to order and prescribe medications including controlled substances
- Attain and maintain medical staff membership and clinical privileges as appropriate to the duties of WCCH
- Eligible to provide and receive reimbursement for professional services under the Medicare and Medicaid programs
- Must seek and maintain qualification to provide services that constitute covered services under plans sponsored by preferred provider organizations, health maintenance organizations, or similar delivery systems as specified by WCCH
- Fulfill continuing education requirements as required for continued licensure
- Eligible, within standards established by the WCCH malpractice insurance carrier, to be included as a covered employee under WCCH malpractice insurance policy
- Current License from the State of Nebraska
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 3 months of hire
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 3 months of hire
- Current Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) or Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) within 3 months of hire
Desired Qualifications
- Graduation from accredited nursing program
- Experience in rural hospital
