Provide direct physical therapy services under the direction of a physical therapist and physician's plan of care. Treat patients to relieve pain, restore function, and maintain performance through active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, gait training, and prosthetic instruction. Utilize physical agents such as heat, ultrasound, and massage while observing and reporting patient reactions. Instruct patients on the use of wheelchairs, braces, and assistive devices, and maintain clinical records and conference notes. Participate in home care team meetings and in-service education programs. Requires a CAPTE-approved PT assistant license, national examination certification, and current CPR certification. Valid driver's license and access to transportation are essential for agency travel.
