PRN Physical Therapist, Acute - Southeast

Job Summary
Assess patients, develop treatment plans based on evaluations, and document findings while providing instruction to patients and caregivers. Implement advanced physical therapy treatments, monitor progress toward goals, and adjust plans as indicated. Mentor assistants, students, and interns; oversee their development and serve as a clinical resource for staff and departmental committees. Communicate effectively with physicians, insurance companies, and colleagues to coordinate care. PRN coverage primarily for weekends and holidays, with training during the week. Located at Southeast Hospital.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors or graduate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited university-based Physical Therapy program
- Current license to practice Physical Therapy by Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners or by the Physical Therapy Compact Commission
- Current Certification in Basic Life Support
- Doctoral degree along with a residency or fellowship program
- Licensed therapist with 30 hours of continuing competence activities in differential diagnosis
- Ability to commit to elected commitment schedule, with flexibility in scheduling and in moving within patient care areas when necessary
- The visual ability to monitor instruments, computers and equipment, recognize alphanumeric characters, distinguish colors and observe physical characteristics
- Fine hand dexterity, eye-hand coordination, the ability to receive oral and written communication, and to communicate verbally and in writing
- The position requires occasional/frequent lifting of up to 75/100 pounds and carrying of up to 30 pounds; prolonged standing; frequent walking, stooping and squatting
