Job Summary
PRN Physiatrist sought to provide weekend inpatient coverage for a 20-bed Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit within the PM&R service line. Responsibilities include in-person weekend rounding (Saturday and Sunday), history and physicals for new admissions, discharge evaluations, inpatient rehabilitation consults, reviewing outside referrals for potential admission via EMR, managing acute and chronic conditions during the rehabilitation stay, ensuring timely and accurate documentation in the EMR, and potential holiday coverage. Expected availability is approximately one weekend per month. Location: Arlington, VA.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R)
- Active, unrestricted medical license (or ability to obtain)
- Demonstrated clinical experience beyond residency training
- Prior experience in an inpatient rehabilitation setting
- Ability to independently manage inpatient rehabilitation patients
