Job Summary
PRN Pharmacist needed for on-site coverage at our Tampa, FL facility. Role involves ad-hoc pharmacist duties in a closed-door setting to provide coverage during high-demand periods or when regular pharmacists are on paid leave. Responsibilities include managing workflow (including pharmacist verification and labeling/packaging), reviewing medication orders for appropriateness and completeness, ensuring compliance with federal/local pharmacy laws (NJ Board of Pharmacy, DEA, FDA), and performing duties with a friendly, team-oriented approach. Requires Florida Pharmacist license, at least one year of retail or long-term care pharmacy experience (three years preferred), order-entry experience, and strong collaboration within a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with FrameworkLTC and Microsoft Office is preferred; excellent typing speed (40 WPM) preferred. Tarrytown Expocare is an equal-opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a Florida State Board of Pharmacy Pharmacist License
- Minimum one year experience in a retail or long-term care pharmacy; 3 years preferred
- Order Entry experience is required
- Minimal typing speed of 40WPM preferred
- Medical Records experience preferred
- Experience with FrameworkLTC preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- Positive personality who can work well within a team
- Duties & Responsibilities include pharmacist verification and labeling/packaging; reviews medication orders and evaluate their appropriateness and completeness; complies with federal and local pharmacy laws as regulated by boards and agencies
- All other duties as assigned by the Pharmacist-in-Charge
- Maintains required licenses or certifications in good standing
