Job Summary
PRN-Nurse Practitioner sought as independent contractor to support physical health assessments for military service members. Responsibilities include reviewing health history and medical records, interviewing service members to determine current and prior medical concerns (including behavioral health), identifying urgent concerns, and documenting results for readiness classification in the service member’s medical record using a proprietary system. Requires active NP license in the state, CPR/BLS certification, and the ability to work weekends (with occasional weekdays) under the Reserve Health Readiness Program (RHRP) in West Virginia. Strong communication, adaptability to fast-paced environments with high daily volumes, capability to travel and work at various locations including remote military installations, and basic computer skills are required. Prior experience in primary/urgent care or occupational health and mobile medical services is preferred. Supervising physician requirement may apply depending on state rules.
Required Qualifications
- Active NP license in the state
- CPR/BLS Certification
- Experience with Primary Care, Urgent Care or Occupational Health - preferred
- Experience with mobile medical services - preferred
- Knowledge of Military systems, protocols, and terminology - preferred
- Adaptable to fast paced environments, with large volumes of service members seen daily
- Able to work extended hours
- Able to work in various locations, including remote military installations
- Able to travel, with weekend availability - preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Basic computer knowledge and skills
- Not Required - Diagnose, treat, or prescribe medications
