Job Summary
Performs nuclear medicine exams to provide images of organs, evaluate body functions, and analyze biological specimens to aid physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Responsibilities include preparing patients for exam, administering radioactive isotopes in diagnostic, therapeutic, and tracer studies, acquiring high-quality images, entering and monitoring patient data, performing quality assurance on imaging equipment, assisting with accreditation processes (ACR and others), reporting equipment malfunctions, taking emergency call within the department, and supporting professional growth and mentorship of less experienced staff. Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of the community by delivering compassionate, personalized, safe, and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine Technology or Radiologic Technology
- Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support
- Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT)
- Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist by ARRT-N or NMTCB OR Registered CT Technologist by ARRT-CT if performing diagnostic CT
