PRN Mohs Tech - General Lab - UH Truman Medical Center (varied shifts per week)

Job Summary
The PRN Mohs Tech in the General Lab at University Health Truman Medical Center will perform embedding, staining, sectioning, and cover slipping of histologic and Mohs specimens. This role involves collaborating with Pathologists, Dermatopathologists, and Mohs surgeons to ensure accurate and timely slide results, while maintaining compliance with lab protocols. A minimum of an Associate’s degree with specific science coursework and 3 months of supervised training is required. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, organizational skills, and proficiency in basic computer software.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree with 60 college credits (including 6 biology, 6 chemistry, and 12 science credits such as chemistry, biology, physics, or microbiology)
- 3 months of supervised training in the field
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods, prioritize tasks, and problem-solve independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills
- Excellent organizational skills
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field
- Certification as a Histology Technician (ASCP)
- Eligibility to obtain ASMS certification within one year
- Documented laboratory training in a Mohs lab
