PRN MOHS Histology Technician

Job Summary
Prepare and process histologic specimens for microscopic evaluation by a Mohs surgeon, including operating the lab according to OSHA, CLIA, and other regulatory standards. Open the lab daily to check temperatures and equipment, then prepare solutions, fixatives, and stains while maintaining expiration records. Embed specimens, section frozen samples using the Cryostat microtome, mount slides, and label them. Perform daily cleaning and weekly maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting on the Cryostat microtome, Stainer, and other instruments. Notify the supervisor of equipment malfunctions or supply needs. Assist in developing and monitoring the quality assurance plan and implementing new regulatory standards. This as-needed role rotates between Westlake and Middleburg Heights offices.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of one year of Histology, Mohs or relevant laboratory experience
- Demonstrated technical proficiency in the histology techniques of staining, tissue sectioning, fixation, and embedding
