PRN Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

Perform routine facility maintenance, including plumbing, mechanical, electrical, carpentry, and painting. Execute regularly scheduled safety checks, inspections, and walk-throughs while conducting groundskeeping duties. Respond to and complete work orders and projects, recording all changes in work performed. Identify potential equipment issues and communicate them to the Director of Facilities. Follow building preventative maintenance programs and participate in developing departmental safety procedures. Maintain records for facility compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies. Work during inclement weather and staffing emergencies as needed. Maintain regular attendance, complete required trainings, and adhere to safety and infection prevention standards.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2 years direct experience
  • Previous experience in the areas of preventative maintenance, equipment and systems repair, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and/or construction
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting
  • Licensure in a field of specialty, such as electrical, plumbing or HVAC
  • Acceptable driving record
  • Current driver's license
  • Insurability
  • Knowledge of safety codes and regulations
  • Ability to make mathematical calculations
  • Ability to follow detailed written and oral instructions
  • General computer skills including data entry, word processing, email, and record management
  • Ability to maintain quality and safety standards
  • Ability to maintain proper levels of confidentiality
  • Ability to work closely and professionally with others at all levels of the organization
  • Effective organizational and time management skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to walk, bend, reach, push, and pull for both momentary and prolonged periods
  • Gross and precise motor functions
  • Ability to lift/exert up to 50 lbs
  • Close vision and the ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to work in heat, cold, loud noise, restricted space, and moving parts
  • Ability to work during inclement weather
  • Ability to work during staffing emergencies
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance
  • Ability to complete required trainings
