Job Summary
Provide wound-related and basic nursing care to patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse or provider, adhering to hospital policies, safety protocols, and CMS guidelines. Assist with vein clinic intake and discharge after training, gather patient information and supplies, and report quality of care issues to the Clinical Nurse Manager. Communicate with team members regarding therapeutic interventions, perform hyperbaric oxygen therapy duties after required training, and function as a documentation assistant. Maintain a current LPN license and two years of experience, including wound care or SNF/LTACH settings, while demonstrating competency in Basic Life Support and working in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED)
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program/state approved educational program
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the state of practice
- Two (2) or more years' experience as LPN/LVN
- One (1) or more years in SNF or LTACH setting
- Demonstrated competency in BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Demonstrated organization, prioritization and time-management skills
- Basic knowledge of regulatory/accrediting requirements for healthcare organizations
- Strong interpersonal, listening, as well as oral and written communication skills
- Customer service skills and follow-up skills
- Ability to multi-task and to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work with others and in a team environment
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to stay calm in all situations
- Working knowledge of computerized nursing systems
- Physical demands: Being in a stationary position for extended periods of time (4 hours or more)
- Physical demands: Viewing computer screen for extended periods of time (4 hours or more)
- Physical demands: Keying frequently on a computer for 4 hours or more
- Physical demands: Lifting/moving items up to 20 pounds
