Job Summary
Process, prepare, route, and store patient specimens while entering patient, client, billing, and test data into the Laboratory Information System. Recognize when corrective action is needed and implement effective solutions in a laboratory environment with biological hazards and PPE requirements. Champion safety, compliance, and quality control while maintaining strict confidentiality regarding Protected Health Information. This role requires Monday through Friday availability with rotating Saturdays, working the 2nd shift from 4 PM to 1 AM. The position is PRN only and not benefit eligible.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous training or experience in specimen collection or processing
- Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, centrifuges, and audible alarms
- Must be available to provide coverage between Monday- Friday
- Rotating Saturday's (subject to change)
- Hours: 4PM-1AM (subject to change)
- This position is PRN only
- Work in a laboratory environment with biological hazards and PPE requirements
- Champion safety, compliance, and quality control
- Routine access to Protected Health Information (PHI)
- Employees will be trained on reasonable safeguards and are expected to maintain strict confidentiality
- Abide by all applicable privacy and security standards
- Employees are expected only to access PHI when it is required to fulfill job duties

Desired Qualifications
- 1 - 2 years of related experience in clinical laboratory, data entry, or production
