PRN Hospitalist Physician - MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital

Provide internal medicine care 24 hours per day 7 days per week, managing inpatient referrals from primary care physicians and the Emergency Department. Conduct history and physical exams, daily rounding services, and discharge planning while overseeing resident care, teaching rounds, and curriculum development for the Internal Medicine Residency program. Efficiently manage a caseload of 10 or more patients per day, ensuring timely movement through the hospital continuum and adherence to utilization criteria. Demonstrate knowledge of billing and coding regulations, produce accurate records for third-party payors, and participate in multidisciplinary quality improvement teams. Communicate regularly with patients, families, and primary care physicians to keep them informed of clinical management and outcomes.
