PRN Hospice Aide

Job Summary
Provide direct patient care according to the Hospice Plan of Care, assisting with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, transfers, ambulation, and nutrition. Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable patient environment while observing and documenting changes in patient condition. Practice infection control, communicate respectfully with patients and families, and assist with treatments per hospice policy. Travel to patient homes is required with possible exposure to blood and bodily fluids. This position supports the hospice philosophy and quality of care standards under RN supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Current driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Valid auto liability insurance
- Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, transfer patients, and use durable medical equipment safely
- Ability to read, write, and communicate clinical information effectively
- Compassionate, dependable, and patient-focused
- Successful completion of competency evaluation and skills testing
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma preferred
- Completion of CNA, Hospice Aide, Home Health Aide, or state-approved Nurse Aide Training/Competency Program
- One year of experience preferred in hospice, home health, hospital, nursing home, or long-term care
