Job Summary
The Home Health Occupational Therapist provides expert therapeutic services in patients' homes, conducting comprehensive assessments to develop personalized therapy plans and implementing interventions to improve independence in daily living activities. Responsibilities include educating patients and families, utilizing exercises and adaptive equipment, monitoring progress, documenting reports to the supervising physician, coordinating with a healthcare team, and maintaining regulatory-compliant records. Requires Texas OT licensure and CPR certification with 1–2 years of preferred home-health experience; strong communication and compassion are essential for collaboratives with residents, families, and staff. Schedule is PRN with weekdays, weekends, and flexible availability; mileage reimbursement is offered.
Required Qualifications
- Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Texas
- Current CPR Certification
- 1 - 2 years of clinical experience in a home health facility or similar healthcare setting is preferred
- Ability to build rapport with residents through a compassionate and caring demeanor
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with residents, families, and team members
- Commitment to providing high-quality, resident-centered care with empathy and compassion
- Strong clinical skills in assessment, treatment planning and intervention implementation
