Job Summary
PRN Dietary Assistant role involving a variety of food service duties such as patient tray line, dish room, utilities, cafeteria server, and cold food production. Works as part of a team to deliver high quality food and service to patients and customers; ensures sanitation, safety, and quality control guidelines are followed; documents equipment temperatures and assists with proper storage and labeling of items. Requires ability to set up work areas, maintain cleanliness, prepare food items in batch production, greet customers, address complaints professionally, and operate kitchen equipment. Education includes a current Food Handler card (or within 30 days of hire) and PIC training as required by county health department; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Current Food Handlers card OR obtained within 30 days of hire through ONE of the following, as required by County DHHR: StateFoodSafety.com Servsafe National Restaurant Association Local County Health Department
- PIC training provided through the County Health Department
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Familiarity with sanitation, safety and quality control guidelines set forth by departmental policies
- Knowledge of temperatures and equipment in a kitchen environment
- Ability to understand written and oral communication
- Computer skills - basic computer components and Microsoft Word
- Telephone skills - use of speaker phones, headsets, and telephone etiquette
