Job Summary
PRN Dialysis Registered Nurse (RN) delivering hemodialysis and providing high-quality nursing care in a correctional dialysis unit. Responsibilities include applying professional nursing knowledge, assessing patients, utilizing technical and documentation skills, collaborating with the healthcare team, and maintaining effective communication with site management, DOC/BOP, and patients. The role is based at the Troy, VA dialysis unit within Fluvanna Correctional Center, operating Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, with scheduling flexibility to fit availability. Requires RN licensure in VA, current CPR, English proficiency, and prior hemodialysis experience. Emphasizes patient safety, care planning, coordination with multidisciplinary team, adherence to infection control practices, and participation in quality assurance initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited nursing school or equivalent
- Current RN License for VA & current CPR certification (or within three months of hire)
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English
- One year of Hemodialysis RN experience required (two to three years preferred)
