Job Summary
Perform clinical diagnostic sonography examinations using high-frequency sound waves and Doppler ultrasound to visualize internal structures and analyze hemodynamics. Communicate findings to interpreting radiologists while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and accurate identification. Operate imaging equipment efficiently, coordinate exam sequences to minimize patient stay, and maintain equipment through daily quality control and high-level disinfection protocols. Provide instruction to students and residents on sonography exams and equipment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate
- Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program which meets requirements by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
Desired Qualifications
- 1 or more years experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer/Vascular Technologist with the RDMS and RVT credentials
- Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) Equivalent to Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) Sonography (S) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
