Job Summary
PRN Cook in a hospital setting responsible for preparing nutritious and balanced meals for patients, employees, and visitors. Follows established meal schedules, menus, and dietary guidelines; ensures proper sanitation and safety of all food preparation equipment; adheres to local, state, and federal health regulations; aims to minimize waste and improve operational efficiency. Requires ability to work with multiple food items, prioritize tasks, and maintain quality and infection prevention standards. Preferred candidates have a High School Diploma or GED and about one year of production experience in a healthcare or commercial food service operation, plus Food Handler Permits and ServSafe/Certified Food Manager credentials where applicable.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- 1 year production experience in a healthcare or commercial food serving operation
- Food Handlers Permit required in AZ, KS, NM, WI
- Certified Food Manager certification or state equivalent required in FL,TX, OH
- Must have or obtain within 30 days of hire
- Must maintain acceptable driving record, current driver’s license, and insurability
